We would love for you to help us make #MayoMagic!
Below you will find some of the hallmark events of the Mayo school year. Every single one of these events requires parent and caregiver volunteers. If you are interested in helping make the magic happen, email president@mayopta.org. You can also view the event calendar for upcoming events.
A couple days before school begins, teachers and staff invite you to campus to meet your new teacher for the school year. Keep an eye out for an email from the school regarding details and social media posts from PTA. Families are encouraged to swing by the PTA table after meeting their teacher. We will have school spirit wear, stickers and other goodies for sale, as well as information about membership and volunteer opportunities. Families can also check out a variety of after school opportunities.
At the beginning of every school year, the Mayo PTA organizes our back to school spirit wear sale, sale, during which families can purchase exclusive spirit wear designs. New spirit wear designs are announced and available throughout the school year. All spirit wear is made to order and delivered directly to students in their classrooms! Some miscellaneous items are available for purchase year round through the PTA website.
Three times each year—Fall, Winter, and Friendship—students gather in their multi-age family groups to celebrate together. These Family Parties are filled with games, crafts, and activities that build connection and joy across grade levels. Parents are invited to join the fun, making these events a true community celebration where students, families, and staff come together to share in the Mayo Magic. Each family lead will communicate with the parents/caregivers in their family to coordinate donations to make each party a success!
Students will also have a special end of the year party within their family groups. This party is planned by the family teacher.
Four times each year, the entire school comes together to celebrate Community Days—a hallmark of the Mayo experience. On these special days, students gather in their multi-age family groups to learn, create, and connect around a shared theme.
Each Community Day is unique, offering a variety of hands-on activities designed to spark curiosity, build teamwork, and strengthen relationships across grade levels. Whether they’re exploring art, science, service, or culture, students leave Community Days with new skills, new friendships, and a deeper sense of belonging. At Mayo, Community Days remind us that learning doesn’t just happen in classrooms—it happens when we come together, support one another, and celebrate the joy of discovery.
Each year, the Mayo PTA hosts Mayo Mix—our biggest fundraising event and a night just for adults to enjoy food, music, and fun. This signature auction raises a large portion of the PTA’s funds, helping to support our students and school community for the following two years.
Donations come from Mayo families and the broader Tulsa community, and are offered that night through live auctions, raffles, and silent bidding. Some of the most exciting treasures are the one-of-a-kind family creations, made with love by our students, and the always-popular teacher experiences—like pool parties or special outings led by teachers.
Mayo Mix isn’t just a fundraiser; it’s a celebration of the creativity, generosity, and community spirit that make Mayo such a magical place.
Once a month, the Mayo PTA hosts a restaurant fundraiser in collaboration with local area restaurants. These events are a great excuse not to cook dinner, and Mayo gets a portion of the proceeds to support PTA programs. Whether you dine in or take out, it’s always fun to see familiar faces (including teachers!) at the restaurant. Keep an eye out for the flyers that go home with your students about a week before the events!
The Mayo PTA hosts free Family Fun Nights throughout the year. Keep an eye out for announcements throughout the year and plan to join us for these fun FREE family events.
Every year Mayo hosts a biannual book fair. During the week of the fairs, our school library transforms into a magical place where our students can explore the world of books. All proceeds go directly to support the school library. Parents and caregivers are welcome to come and shop at the fair during certain predetermined times. Parents and caregivers can also load their child’s “e-wallet” with money so they can independently shop the fair at recess and lunch. We also welcome donations to a Book Fair e-wallet that we use to provide books for students in need.
